Back To Blogging

If you've been following this blog since the beginning - August of 2014 to be exact - then you'll know that there has been quite a few changes made...

I started this blog [then named Miss Kathy Lee] as a way to share my experience while living in the United Kingdom for a term when I was truly out of contact with everyone.  In that time I managed to write a whopping six blog posts about my trips and a few scattered random bits and blogs.  I still have drafts of posts which I never finished or uploaded from those three months - I just never got around to it and now that it's over a year later, it seems like maybe I need to cherish those moments by myself.

After I came back, I've been struggling with trying to figure what I want to do with my life.  I had recently transferred to a different University studying a completely different subject and was starting to wonder if even that was what I wanted to do.  Reverse culture shock was hitting hard.  In that process I decided to start a YouTube channel and re-brand my blog to A Kathy Moment.  I started looking at the blogs which I like to read and pick up the elements which I liked - the types of post, the posting style, scheduling patterns, etc.  As you know I'm a planner, and a planner doesn't feel right if there isn't a plan.

Fast forward again to my last blog post almost a year ago now.  After that post I've been trying to focus on my channel instead but all the while I've still been thinking about what I can do to this space.  In both my channel and this blog I just wanted a space where I could produce the types of content which I would want to watch/read.  I wanted it to be aspects of all the different blogs I like to read but in my style.

This past January I decided to do a redesign on the blog.  Me being me, I spent the better part of a few days looking around at different templates and whatnot and I ran across the current one.  If your wondering "why didn't you post then after you did that?" the reason is that I'm still not entirely happy with it.  There are aspects I like, but quite a few that I don't.  So, me being me, I went out in search again for the perfect template and vision for my blog.  As you can probably guess, I'm still on that mission.

Why am I writing this post then?

Well, I decided that with graduation approaching that it is time that I stepped up my game.  If I want to keep going on with this blog and my channel then right now is the best time to make a plan.  So, a plan is what I've been making.

Until graduation, I want to write posts whenever I feel like about whatever it is that I feel like.  I want to get back into the swing of things and this seems like a good outlet for those end-of-college jitters to escape.  That's it.  That's the plan.  Eventually there will be a newer, better, spiffier layout with all the nooks and crannies figured out but for now its just going to be me being me and doing my best.
